Barefoot trainer

The Barefoot Trainer is a project designed to support the use of educational technology in the learning environment. It is funded by the European Union under Leonardo da Vinci Programme -Transfer of Innovation. Its main objective is to build and promote best practice in adult blended learning programmes and to help teachers and trainers develop new skills that are immediately useful in their delivery across diverse Vocational Education and Training (VET) environments throughout Europe.

The project further aims to help build teaching/training capacity and employability opportunities across the European Union through the development of a “Train the Trainer” programme.

The project aims to

  • Ensure the availability of accredited, innovative VET training programme for diverse sectors and people - including formal education, commercial training, and voluntary and Third sector, community and small business agencies.
  • Develop and deliver a new 'Train the Trainer' programme in 6 EU countries which follows on from previous EU project using their outputs, including the GOAL project - Generating Adult Online Learning.
  • Disseminate widely by diverse means utilising planned dissemination/valorisation strategies

The project ran from October 2011 through to September 2013 and will be delivered by a partnership of organisations from the following European Union countries:

  • United Kingdom
  • Hungary
  • Greece
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands.
